This week we had a very special adventure to Azzara's to make our own pizzas! The kids in both classes did a great job walking over to the restaurant together and we had a few moms and dads with us who helped make the trip even easier. Once we arrived Andrea gave us a tour of the back of the house and then showed everyone how to make a pizza. Finally we all found a seat in the dining room where each child had their own dough to start their pizza with. They experimented with poking, stretching and even tossing their dough to make it thinner and round. They had the opportunity to choose from many different toppings, and it was interesting how many of them opted out of sauce or cheese. While their pizzas were baking they patiently listened to Misty and Nicole read stories and sing a few songs. The kids loved being able to eat their own creations, and the adults were treated to Andrea's homemade pizza as well. Thank you to Dana for taking such great photos of our PM class (they're much better than our school camera's photos!), I'll try to send out some individual e-mails to families as she really took a ton of fabulous pictures and I just couldn't include all of them on this blog page. A very special thank you goes out to Andrea, Cord and Azzara's for making our first field trip a complete success!
